Janice Glavan Receives SFR Designation from NAR

 

Phoenix, Arizona - Janice Glavan with The Williams Real Estate Company has earned the nationally recognized Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource certification. The National Association of REALTORS® offers the SFR certification to REALTORS® who want to help both buyers and sellers navigate these complicated transactions, as demand for professional expertise with distressed sales grows.

According to a recent NAR survey, nearly one-third of all existing homes sold recently were either short sales or foreclosures.  For many real estate professionals, short sales and foreclosures are the new “traditional” transaction.  REALTORS® who have earned the SFR certification know how to help sellers maneuver the complexities of short sales as well as help buyers pursue short sale and foreclosure opportunities.

“As leading advocates for homeownership, REALTORS® believe that any family that loses its home to foreclosure is one family too many, but unfortunately, there are situations in which people just cannot afford to keep their homes, and a foreclosure or a short sale results,” said 2009 NAR President Charles McMillan, a broker with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Dallas-Fort Worth. “Foreclosures and short sales can offer opportunities for home buyers and benefit the larger community, as well, but it’s extremely important to have the help of a real estate professional like a REALTOR® who has earned the SFR certification for these kinds of purchases.”

The certification program includes training on how to qualify sellers for short sales, negotiate with lenders, protect buyers, and limit risk, and provides resources to help REALTORS® stay current on national and state-specific information as the market for these distressed properties evolves. Janice Glavan Joins The Williams Real Estate Company in Scottsdale, Arizona

Phoenix, Arizona - Janice Glavan, a member of the Scottsdale Association of REALTORS® and formerly of Russ Lyon Sotheby's International Realty, has joined The Williams Real Estate Company in Scottsdale. The Williams Real Estate Company is dedicated to the growth of local charities. In the past few years, they have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities such as Phoenix Children's Hospital.
 
From every commission earned by each agent, the company donates a substantial portion of the proceeds. The goal of The Williams Real Estate Company is to exceed donations of $100,000 a month to Valley Charities.

Janice Glavan Accepted for 2nd Term as Master of Real Estate, Class of 2009-2011

  
Phoenix, Arizona - Janice Glavan, a member of the Scottsdale Association of REALTORS®  has been accepted for a 2nd term into the MRE (Master of Real Estate) Society by the Arizona Association of REALTORS®. She was previously a member of MRE Class of 2007-2009. Less than two percent of REALTORS® in Arizona belong to this elite Society. Criteria to belong to this Society within the Arizona Association of REALTORS® include the following:  
 

• Be a REALTOR® in good standing.
• Hold an NAR-recognized designation (earned after completion of 90 hours of classroom instruction and examinations) .
• Hold an addtional NAR-recognized designation awarded by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
• Take 54 hours of continuing education during the two-year period immediately prior to MRE Society acceptance.
• Earn 10 points through additional educational classes, attendance at NAR or AAR conferences, or service on local, state, or national committees.

  
These criteria must be met every two years to maintain active in the Society. Membership recognizes the individual's dedication to excellence through professional education and commitment to staying abreast of the latest real estate regulations and practices. Only members on the REALTOR® organization may belong to this Society. A minimum educational requirement to renew a real estate license in the state of Arizona is 24 hours of continuing education every two years. This individual has far exceeded the minimum. Less than two percent of REALTORS® in Arizona belong to this elite Society.

Janice Glavan, Scottsdale REALTOR® Earns Accredited Staging Professional Designation

 
Phoenix, Arizona - The softening Real Estate market in Phoenix is increasing homeowner demands for tools to help bring a profit in the sale of their homes. Home Staging has become one such tool. By properly cleaning, de-cluttering and preparing a house before it is listed on the market, homeowners have a better chance of selling their home at or above list price. 
 
In a 2008 study conducted by StagedHomes.com ASP Real Estate Agents and ASP Stagers reported data across the United States that homes that are Staged sell in 35 days or less on average in today’s market. A same study revealed that homes not Staged in the market take 177 days or longer to sell in today’s market. On average, Staged homes sell 80% faster than homes that are not staged.

Phoenix, Arizona - An Arizona REALTOR^® was recently awarded the Graduate REALTOR^®  Institute (GRI) designation. The Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS® member who completed the curriculum required to achieve the highly acclaimed designation is Janice Glavan of Scottsdale, Arizona. Scottsdale REALTOR® Receives National At Home With Diversity Certification
